Massage therapy is one of the best tools for relaxing the mind and body.

Office Policies

General Liability Release:

  • I give my permission to receive massage therapy.
  • I understand that therapeutic massage is not a substitute for traditional medical treatment or medications.
  • I understand that the massage therapist does not diagnose illnesses or injuries, or prescribe medications.
  • I have clearance from my physician to receive massage therapy.
  • I understand the risks associated with massage therapy that include, but are not limited to: superficial bruising, short term muscle soreness, and/or an exacerbation of an undiscovered injury.  I therefore release Advanced Bodywork, and the individual massage therapist, from any and all liability concerning these injuries that may occur during the massage session.
  • I understand the importance of informing my massage therapist of all medical conditions and medications I am taking, and to let the massage therapist know about any changes to these. I understand that there may be additional risks based on my physical condition.
  • I understand that it is my responsibility to inform my massage therapist of any discomfort I may feel during the massage session so he/she may adjust accordingly.
  • I understand that I or the massage therapist may terminate the session at any time, for any reason.
  • I have been given a chance to ask questions about the massage therapy session and my questions have been answered.

Scheduling:

A card must be on file to schedule and keep an appointment.


If you are booking online, the scheduling system will ask for your debit card/credit card information.


If you are calling or come into our office to schedule your appointment, you will be asked for your card information to hold your appointment.


This is to uphold her office policies.  


She is serious about being in the office and preparing for your appointment.  Please be serious about your intentions before scheduling.

Late Cancellation:

She respectfully asks that you provide her with a 24 hour notice of any schedule changes or cancellation requests.  Please understand that when you cancel or miss your appointment without providing more than a 48 hour notice, she is often unable to fill that appointment time. This means her other clients who are serious about receiving massage treatments miss the chance to receive the services they need.   For this reason, if you cancel an appointment within the 24 hours before your appointment you will be charged 100% of the service amount.


If a card is not on file, payment will be required for the missed appointment, along with a pre-payment for the new appointment, and a card must be on file before she will accept your appointment.  No refunds, no exceptions, for any and all reasons.


She is by appointment only, which means, she's only in the office when you schedule an appointment with her.


A Late Cancellation costs her time, loss of income, and kept another client from having that spot.   You would be upset showing up at your job and not get paid for the time you are there.  Please do not do that to her.  She made sure she was there preparing for your appointment.  Please be considerate and respectful of that.


She understands that emergencies can arise and illness does occur at inopportune times. If you have a fever, a known infection, or have experienced vomiting or diarrhea within 24 hours prior to your appointment time, she asks that you cancel your appointment. 


Inclement weather may also result in the need for cancellations. She will do her best to give advanced notice if she is closing or needs to cancel due to bad weather, illnesses, or emergencies, and asks you to do the same. Please do not risk your own safety trying to make it to your appointment. 


Late cancellations due to emergency, illness, or inclement weather will generally not result in any missed appointment charges, but this is determined on a case-by-case basis. 


If, for whatever reason, you are unable to be there for your scheduled appointment, she kindly asks you to do everything you can to give her plenty of notice so she is able to schedule another client or for you to find someone (family member/friend/co-worker) to fill your spot and avoid the cancellation fee.   

Shortened Sessions:

If you request to shorten your scheduled session within the 24-hr window of your appointment, due to whatever reasons/circumstances, you will still be charged 100% for the session you scheduled, regardless of the time.  Please keep in mind she reserved that time for you.  That reduction in time should not cost her the time she blocked for you, and prevented another client from scheduling.

No Show/No Call:

Not showing up for an appointment without proper notification will result in an automatic 100% charge of the service fee, and a strike.  No exceptions.


She reserves the right to require a credit card number, so that appropriate fees may be charged if a no-show/no call does occur. She reserves the right to charge your card placed on file to uphold this policy.

Late Arrival:

She requests that you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment time to allow time to fill out any required paperwork as well as answer any intake questions she may have. 


She understands that issues can arise that may cause you to be late for your appointment. However, she asks that you call to inform her if this ever occurs so she can do her best to accommodate you.


Appointment times are reserved for each client. So oftentimes she cannot exceed that reserved time without making the next client late. For this reason, arriving after your appointment time may result in a loss of time from your massage so that your session ends at the scheduled time. 100% of service fees will be charged even when sessions are shortened due to late arrival.


Please keep in mind the time you schedule for is when you should be on the table starting your massage, not to walk through the office door.  For example:  If your appointment is at 1:00pm, that means you should be on the table and I'm starting your session at that time, in order for you to receive your full session time.  If you do not show up until 1:00pm and still have to talk to me, use the restroom, and undress, that cuts into your session time and your massage will be shortened. 


She will do her best to be on time, and if she's unable to do so she will add time to your session to make up for her late arrival or adjust the service charge accordingly.

Gift Certificates and Massage Packages:

Gift Certificates

  • Massage gift certificates are written out for a service, not a dollar amount
  • Massage gift certificates are not redeemable for cash. 
  • Expires 12 months from date of purchase: Your massage appointment must be scheduled before the expiration date.  No exceptions.  Please do not wait last minute to schedule your appointment, you may not be able to schedule an appointment before your certificate expires. She recommends scheduling a month prior to its expiration.
  • All Gift Certificates comply with all of our office policies.
  • Massage gift certificates must be presented before massage is given. 
  • If you have forgotten the massage gift certificate you will be expected to pay full price for the scheduled massage.


Massage Packages

  • All massage packages comply with all of her office policies.
  • Must be used within 12 months of purchase date.


Courtesy Card Exchanges

  • All cards comply with all of her office policies.
  • Cards must be presented before your massage session, or you will be responsible for full payment of the service scheduled.
  • Tampering with the card number will invalidate the card.

Inappropriate Behavior

Alana is a state licensed therapist, not a prostitute!  There is absolutely no sexual component to any and all services offered in my office.


Any insinuations, jokes, gestures, advances, touching, moaning, staring, or requests otherwise will result in immediate termination of your appointment and a refusal of ANY and ALL services in the future. You will be charged the full service fee regardless of the length of your appointment. Depending on the behavior exhibited she may also file a report with the local authorities, if necessary. 


Individuals conducting themselves in violation of Idaho Section 18-5614(1)(a) will be reported to local law enforcement.


Treat her with respect and dignity, and you will be treated the same in return.

Refuse Service

She reserves the right to refuse service(s) to anyone for any/all reasons, but especially for the issues listed below.  Please see the list below to help determine what may ban you from my office and services.


  • Consistent Late Cancellations, (she has a three strikes you're out policy, at her discretion.)
  • Continual No-Shows, (she has a three strikes you're out policy, at her discretion.)
  • If she has to instigate contact (call or text) to find out why you have not shown up for your scheduled appointment, valid or not, (she has a three strikes you're out policy, at her discretion.)
  • Three strikes of continual, irresponsible behaviors will ban you from her office. 
  • She has the right to refuse services and ban a client at any time for any and all reasons.
  • Inappropriate Sexual Behavior (you will be automatically banned. Yes, she writes down names and documents the incident.) You will not be welcomed back and will be denied services.
  • Those individuals insistent with using no covers while on the table naked and refuse to wear underwear/shorts if they don't want the covers.
  • Those wanting to recreate or have an 'Eastern' experience, find their center or Zen, and have a natural body release.

Three Strikes - You're Out

If you get a strike for violating a policy, (Late Cancellation, No-Show, or No Call), you will be required to pre-pay for your appointment before she will accept your appointment, and pay for any missed sessions that violated one or more of her policies.  No exceptions.  No refunds, for any and all reasons.  Please be sure, before scheduling, that you will be able to arrive for your appointment.  There will be no refunds, no exceptions.


She will inform you if you received a strike, list the reason(s), and ask you to read the office policies.  Payment(s) will be expected before she'll accept your appointment.


She reserves the right to determine if this policy needs to be continually enforced, and if an office ban becomes necessary. That will be based on the clients reliability.  She understands things happen.

 Advanced Bodywork is a professional office serving our local communities who are looking for professional services from a qualified and state licensed massage therapist.  


While it is her hope she will not have to enforce any of these office policies, it has become appropriate and necessary to implement due to continual problems.  She appreciates your understanding.


 BY SIGNING, (on your intake form at her office) you agree that you have read the above statements, procedures, liabilities, and policies. You also agree to abide by all of the policies.
